Goals

1.  Contribute to nursing education in order to provide for the highest quality health care.

2.  To provide programs representative of fundamental and current professional interests and concerns.

3.  To aid in the development of the whole student and his/her professional and his/her responsibility for the health care of the people in all walks of life.

4.  To have direct input into standards of nursing education and influence the education process.

5.  To influence health care, nursing education and practice through legislative activities as appropriate.

6.  To promote and encourage participation in community affairs and activities toward improved health care and resolution of related social issues.

7.  To represent nursing students to the consumer, to institutions, and other organizations.

8.  To promote and encourage recruitment efforts, participation in student activities, and educational opportunities regardless of a person's race, color, creed, sex, lifestyle, national origin, age or economic status.

9.  To promote and encourage collaborative relationships with National Student Nurses' Association, American Nurses Association, National League for Nursing, International Council of Nurses, Texas Nurses Association, Texas league for Nursing, as well as other nursing and related health care organizations.
